All Everquest Accounts given 1 month of free time

Information is still sketchy, but it was requested that all accounts without valid subscription would be given the free time offered in the return package. An SoE Communications Relation employee informed us that was now done.

So all should be able to clock in some free EQ time if they wanted to do so.

A few perks, 1 free month for all accounts (active ones?)

Few other things to be checked on soe's site.

The password reset page is a bit glitchy due to possible overload. took 3 hours to reset 7 accounts.

update downtime SoE

May 12, 2011
We thank you for your patience as we continue to work around the clock to restore our game services. We know this has been a frustrating time for you and appreciate your understanding as we work to confirm the security of our network.

In light of the recent outage of Sony Online Entertainment's game services due to April's cyber-attack, we are committed to compensating our loyal player base for the inconvenience caused by the data breach and lost game time while we improve our security measures.

We are currently in the process of an extensive upgrade to our network to further protect your information from future attacks. It will likely be at least a few more days before we restore our services, and when we come back online, here is what you can expect for each of our game services.

First and foremost, all impacted players will receive 30 days of game time added to the end of the current billing cycle in addition to one day for each day the system is down. Additionally, many games are offering a variety of in-game items and special events to welcome players back once our services resume (per the outline below). This is true for both PC and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system based products.

    * DC Universe™ Online: Batman™ and Two-Face™ Inspired Masks and 30 Marks of Distinction
    * Free Realms®: Free daily items (7 to collect)
    * Clone Wars Adventures™: Count Dooku v2 Outfit
    * EverQuest®: A series of events, including Double XP, Double Rare Mob Spawns and Double Faction Gains
    * EverQuest II and EverQuest II Extended: A series of events, including Double XP, Double Guild XP, Loot Bonanza, and City Festivals
    * Vanguard: Saga of Heroes®: A series of Double XP events
    * Star Wars Galaxies™: Bounty Hunter Statue, a miniature model of Boba Fett's ship, the Slave I™
    * Magic: The Gathering - Tactics™: Four of each of these spells: "Ivory Mask", "Duress" and "Angelheart Vial", plus 500 Station Cash
    * PoxNora®: Limited edition Carrionling, Welcome Back 5K Gold Award Tournaments and two Draft Tournaments, plus 500 Station Cash

For our lifetime subscribers, we'll grant in-game currency; specifically 20,000 coins for Free Realms, 7,500 Galactic Credits for Clone Wars Adventures and 10 Marks of Distinction for DC Universe Online (in addition to the items listed above).

And finally, our Station Access subscribers will receive 500 Station Cash, in addition to the subscription time and items listed above.

Additionally, we announced today that SOE will provide its U.S.-based Station Account holders with complimentary enrollment in an identity theft protection program through Debix, one of the industry's most reputable identity protection firms. For Station Account holders who live outside the U.S., SOE will be offering similar programs, if and as available, and will provide details as they're confirmed for each country or territory.

We continue to work around the clock to restore SOE's services and thank you for your continued patience as we complete our investigation of this criminal attack.

Thank you,
Sony Online Entertainment

Sign of One / Griffinsbane enters Tacvi

===Links Fixed + detailed screenshots in click through ===

Just want to inform you, that we finally finished our flagging in Gates of Discord a week ago.

A balancing act in which we had to log on 16 accounts at some point ;)

So Last sunday The Griffinsbane clan finally arrived at Tecvu. The final static zone of the expansion.

So we started doing the three events which would let us get the final instance.

4 Hours later we finally were there, We entered Tac'Vi and killed all but the final boss.

http://users.telenet.be/ilovetina/SoO/Screenshotstacvi.rar

After that we decided we wanted some items from the old LDON raids, so we started bringing down one raid after another. Until finally again 3 days later we got to the point where all the raids we wanted were on a time out,

So what to do now. Then the idea came. It had been planned to get epic 2 orbs for years, so why not go bump into anguish, as we had a base crew which was flagged.

So said so done, we rushed in with our seven characters, and started killing everything except Overlord Matta Muram,

This time because we were not setup right and well without seeing the right emotes this event is impossible, with the late hour we had to call it at that point,

Mata maybe next time.

Oh and screenshots

Crystallos targetted for raid nights

We will be targetting Crystallos for the next couple weeks, for guild raid nights. We will be starting at 9eastern/6pacific. Be in the zone, on time, for CoH to the raid. We are limited to how late we can stay, so the plan is to play hard from 9-11 (6-8pacific), and get some spells, gear, goodies for our members. The camps will be determined by what is available upon our arrival.

See you there~

Crystallos Accessed !

Sign of One gains access to Crystallos!

We had a couple of clans who pioneered on their own, and attained it already. The rest of the guild caught up last Saturday. Everyone has all the components needed to complete the Meldrath's Magnificent Mansion keying quest now, as well as the 10 crystals needed to do the final combine for each of your Crystallos key. There are a few soloable, (or half-groupable) drops in addition, but they can be farmed in an hour or so.

Then it is just a matter of following the instructions, for the two missions via the link to the mission write-up on Allakhazam's (there are links to both misssions in the guild forums).

Contact an officer if you are missing anything (documents, crystal, etc). We are aware that not everyone was present, every step of the way. We are planning a hit-list for Saturday, so let an officer know asap, so we can target only what is needed to get everyone keyed.

Make completing the keying to MMM a priority, if you haven't done so already. You need access to the zone, to get one of the crystal bases. It is the most difficult one to get. But it is easy to do, if you have the right classes to help you. Spum clan can help, if you need it. Be aware that the crystal base is a container, so have an empty bag slot available, so you can do the combines (have your 10 crystals in your possession).

Send a /tell or in-game e-mail to Spum, to schedule assistance.

Crystallos fun is here, but you have to have access to partake in the festivities. Get your keying behind you, so we can go there as a guild on a Saturday night, and not leave anyone behind.

Crystallos "crystal" farming

Crystallos "crystal" farming started last week. It was a first visit, so there were a few hiccups, along the way.

We got everyone there, one of the crystals. That leaves just 9 more to go.

Toonz has the 4 quests to trigger all 10 of the golems now (only had 2 last week, so we started about halfway down the valley. We will do this a little differently starting this week.

~ Raid starts at 6pm west coast time / 9pm east coast time, and will last a maximum of 3 hours. Be on time, and we can get more done.

~ Come with a way to invis yourself, if you are late to the start. We may not have CoH available, so come prepared.

~ DO NOT come with the missions to trigger the golems, or we will have multiple golems to contend with, and wipe. REMOVE the mission, if you have it, before coming. We only need one person per raid, to trigger them, and it is Toonz. Once you have all 10 of your crystals, you may get the missions, do the combines, and do the hand in, without having to trigger the golems yourself, as ALL the crystals can be pre-looted beforehand.

Here is the plan:

~ Meet at the vendor, on the way to the golem valley. We will buff up everyone there, invis, and head to the first side valley.

~ We will get everyone their crysal from the first golem, top off buffs, and if time for more, head to the next side valley from there, and so on, until we call it a night. We will do the golems in order: closest to Vendor first, farthest last. We will continue the following week, where we left off from the previous week.

~ if you are present, and need a crystal, please let Spum know at the start of the raid, so I can put together a list, and know how many spawns we will need at each fountain.

~ Toonz will drop from the raid at each Golem encounter, so he can trigger more, until everyone gets them. He will participate at the last kill at each station, to get a kill credit, and his own crystal.

~ At each golem fountain: VERY IMPORTANT> be shrunk and invis. The whole time we are in the fountain, from before triggering the golem until last crystal has been looted, EVERYONE needs to hug the back wall of the fountain. The only person NOT hugging the back wall should be the main tank. All casters, healers, dps, and anyone else should stay glued to the back wall. Invis will drop once we start fighting. as soon as golem is killed, we should reinvis everyone again. We can avoid all adds from outside the fountain if we work as a team, and technically only have 2 or 3 golems per encounter, to kill. Or we can play sloppy, get yard adds and yard named on us, and eat up our time dealing with that. The yard adds and yard named drops NO GEAR, fyi, so there is really no reason to kill more than what we need to.

~ We can get everyone 2 or 3 crystals a week (in 3 hours). The less wipes, and the quicker we can get started, the more we can pack in per night. This can take 3-8 weeks. I believe everyone would prefer 3 weeks over 8. The sooner we can get these done, the sooner we can start reaping the rewards.

============================================

~ If you have not completed your MMM access quest, please see Spum for assistance. Send a /tell or in-game e-mail to Spum.

============================================

We did "ok" last week: we made a few minor errors. We can do "excellent", with the knowledge we gained on our first exploratory run.

See you all on Saturday night!

MMM flagging

The Meldrath's Majestic Manor flaggin has begun.

Two weeks ago, we targetted Engineer Gyrzim, in Gyrospire Beza. We had a few mishaps on the way to his room, with people proximity agroing mobs through the doors. We had a couple on the way there, adn a few more, once we held his room, that got agroed from the outside. By the time we had a few nameds killed, people realized that "stay away from the doors" meant stay away from the doors, and they did. It took a bunch of adds popping on top of us, and we lost probably half a dozen folks. We held the adds at bay, and picked them off, one-by-one, until we cleared the room, and got everyone rezzed. And everyone who came, got their page. Good work everyone, and congrats on your pages.

Last week we set out to do the page from Gyrospire Zeka. We had only 9 people present at raid time. Qeynos Guardians showed up while we were still assembling, with the same target in mind. They were short on DPS, and we had no tanks. Neither force had enough to accomplish the task at hand. Their raid leader contacted me about combining forces, and sharing the camp, and get everyone their pages from both forces. Seemed like a better option than just go home, and call it a night, so we tried. Unfortunately, SoE nerfed the access to the shortcut, up teh back wall. So we had to clear the old fashioned way. They had a fairly slow pace, on the pulls, to the point that we had yard repops before we cleared the first room, at the entry.

We went in anyway, and had adds through the walls, once we started clearing, and ended the night in a near total wipe. We summoned to the lobby and called it a night, at that point.

I plan on trying again this Saturday, at normal raid time (6pm pacific /9pm eastern). As soon as we have 2 solid groups, we can start clearing the yard trash. We need Tankage and DPS for this stuff. They dont go down that fast, even with 18-24 people beating on them, and they hit in the 2k range (do NOT get agro, or you will see how fast they can drop your health to zero).

If we don't have enough by 1 hour past raid start time, we will call it a night, and try again next time.

Everyone needs the page, even if you haven't started the quest yet.

Once we get the Zeka pages for everyone, we will start farming the crystals in DSH, for the Crystallos keying quest.

The goal is to gain accesss to Crystallos, for gear and spell farming for the guild. You need to have zone access to MMM, in order to complete the Crystallos access quest. So we are doing it in order.

I'm hoping to have a good turnout this week, on time, so we can get in and get everyone their Zeka page.

See you then!!

Xegony sheduled for another death on march 15

As you may or may not know, The Sign is now at 3 god kills, only missing the rathe. Which albeit will require quite a bit of work yet.

Still this does not mean we're done with the other gods yet. Even though we concider Coirnaiv and Fiery Ro pretty much done.

So we sheduled Xegony for another dance on the eve before Fabled, to see if she still is as good at dancing the tango.

Once the fabled hit, since pop is the expansion being beefed up we will probably not do any pop raids for a month. Maybe doing one or two don raids over that time.

Fabled to return on March 16

Although the date hasn't been comfirmed officially, the last few years fabled always has seemed to start on march 16, 00:01 am.

This year fabled pop will join the group of other fableds. And although very little will be in our target range raidwise, it is quite possible that some of the group content will be in the reach of some of our groups.

Also there are the old experience collect quest (kunark era) which may return, if so. I recommend anyone who didn't get the ten dose xp potions to get them this year around.

Watch out, new virus targeting online game passwords

An insidious computer virus recently discovered on digital photo frames has been identified as a powerful new Trojan Horse from China that collects passwords for online games - and its designers might have larger targets in mind.

"It is a nasty worm that has a great deal of intelligence," said Brian Grayek, who heads product development at Computer Associates, a security vendor that analyzed the Trojan Horse.

Very interesting interview related to Plat spammers

Even though the main focus for this interview is everquest 2, those same sites also interact with everquest. As such i feel it's very muchly appropriate to the current increase in platinum farmer spam that is dealt out daily in everquest now. And it also shows a bit of a picture to the fact that it will be dealt with.
